The Initial Jobless Claims released by the US Department of Labor is a measure of the number of people filing first-time claims for state unemployment insurance. The Counting Jobless Claims measure the number of individuals who are unemployed and are currently receiving unemployment benefits.
Not prime data but all part of the employment back story.
