7 rounds of talks in 3 week intervals

In an effort to get the ball rolling on a renegotiated the NAFTA agreement, the US, Mexico and Canada have agreed to meet very 3 weeks for 7 rounds of talks. This is according to Mexican officials familiar with the discussions. That would make the conclusion early next year and avoid interfering with the July 2018 elections in Mexico

Robert Lighthizer, US Trade representative and chief NAFTA negotiator said he hope the negotiations can be wrapped up before the end of the year, but also said that the US would not hurry and make a bad deal.

There is a trillion dollars of trilateral trade between the US, Canada and Mexico. Trump has threatened to dump the NAFTA, if the current agreement can't be reworked to the benefit of the US and lower the job loss and trade deficit.
